A fire broke out at Sundarban Square Market in the capital`s Gulistan area this morning. According to the Fire Service and Civil Defence, the blaze started around 10:00 AM on the fifth floor of the market.
The first fire service unit reached the scene by 10:03 AM and began efforts to douse the flames. Eventually, a total of 11 units were deployed to bring the fire under control, which was achieved by 11:12 AM.
Talha Bin Jasim, acting officer of the Fire Service media cell, confirmed the details. However, the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage have not been determined yet, he added.
