Bangladesh reported five more deaths from dengue during the last 24 hours. With the latest addition to the aggregate fatalties, 182 deaths from the mosquito-borne disease has been recorded. This figure is the highest for Bangladesh in a single year.
During the same period, 820 patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country during the past 24 hours till 8:00 am on Tuesday.
"As many as 450 dengue patients were hospitalized in Dhaka city and 370 patients were admitted to hospitals outside Dhaka during the past 24 hours," a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.
"A total of 182 people died from dengue disease between January 1 and November 8. The first death from dengue was reported on June 21, this year," added the daily statement of the health department.
