The Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested a death-row war criminal who has been on the run, from Dhaka on Friday, three days after he was handed down the death penalty.
ANM Emran Khan, assistant director of Rab's Legal and Media wing, confirmed the arrest of Nazrul Islam, reports The Daily Star.
On Tuesday, International Crimes Tribunal-1 headed by Justice Md Shahinur Islam handed down the death sentence to Nazrul and two other war criminals for committing crimes against humanity in Naogaon during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971.
