The structure and marks distribution for the 2025 Primary Scholarship Examination for Grade 5 students in government primary schools has been officially released. The exam will cover five subjects with a total of 400 marks, and the duration will be 2 hours and 30 minutes.
The National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) issued a directive on Monday (August 4) outlining the new format for the upcoming exam.
According to the directive, the exam will include three subjects — Bangla, English, and Primary Mathematics — each carrying 100 marks. The remaining two subjects — Primary Science and Bangladesh and Global Studies — will be assessed together with 50 marks each, totaling 100 marks.
The exam will consist of questions across various cognitive domains, including knowledge-based, comprehension, application, and higher-order thinking skills.
Authorities have instructed that all government primary schools be notified and prepared to implement the updated exam guidelines.
