Professor Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, former Vice-Chancellor of Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur, has been arrested by police in connection with a case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
He was detained on Thursday morning from a residence in the Mohammadpur area of Dhaka by the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Confirming the arrest, Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of the DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division, told media that Kalimullah was taken to the DB office on Minto Road for further questioning.
