Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal today said the country's inflation rate will come down at tolerable level after the end of current Fiscal Year 2021-2022.
He said this in a report on implementation, progress and macroeconomic analysis on 'Budget 2021-2022: Second Term (July-December)' placed in the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) today.
The minister said the government has put special emphasis on keeping inflation rate at tolerable level.
In the first term of the fiscal year, general inflation rate increased to 6.05 percent which was 5.36 percent in July last and 5.55 pc in December, 2021, he mentioned.
Kamal said the overall inflation has risen due to rise of food items and fuel prices in the global market.
Noting that collection of income tax and value added tax (VAT) in revenue earning is promising, he said revenue collection will further increase during the period of the end of current fiscal.
The minister said the government is making its all-out strides to implement Vision 2041 to build a happy, prosperous and developed Bangladesh.
He hoped Bangladesh will be able to attain its cherished goal through achieving expected economic growth under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the government's well-thought and realistic steps to face the socio-economic impacts.
In the report, he said, the government has put highest importance on employments in facing the coronavirus pandemic.
The government is taking up and implementing different initiatives to protect rights of workers, create congenial working environment and establish healthy industrial relations and increase national production capacity.
