Khalid said, “In 1996, after coming to power, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wanted to reduce the road communication time between the capital Dhaka and the remote areas of the country within 5 to 6 hours. But could not implement it appropriately dur to the BNP’s coming into power. During their rule, communication was remote, people were not safe.”
The state minister said, "Now electricity connection has been provided through the river bed in various char areas including Sandwip. The communication system of Sandwip is being developed with the help of the Prime Minister. Sandeep is now an economic zone.”
