BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman has claimed that the advisers of the interim government feel uncomfortable when asked about their roadmap for upcoming reforms and plans.
Speaking at a discussion in Dhaka’s Engineers` Institution on Sunday, December 15, Tarique Rahman remarked, "The people want to know how long it will take for the interim government to fix the state."
The BNP organized the event to mark Victory Day, where party leaders used the occasion to criticize the Awami League for what they described as dominating the narrative of the Liberation War’s ideals.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir called for swift reforms, urging that elections follow soon after.
Tarique Rahman, on the other hand, pressed the interim government to share a clear roadmap for the future.
Referring to the discomfort of the government’s advisers when asked about such plans, Tarique said, "If they continue to hold on to power in the name of reforms for too long, people will begin questioning the need for these reforms."
He also challenged the government to clarify whether they consider themselves successful, while urging them to ensure transparency and accountability.
"People are suffering due to rising prices of everyday goods," he added.
