The severe cyclonic storm "Asani" over west central Bay and adjoining area moved northwestwards and weakened into a Cyclonic Storm over West Central Bay off Andhra coast area.
According to a Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) bulletin valid for 24 hours commencing 9am on Wednesday, It is likely to move in a northwest or northerly direction and weaken gradually into a Deep Depression during the next 24 hours.

"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers with temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy falls at places," it added.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 119 mm in Sylhet.
