In the aftermath of the military plane crash at Milestone School and College in Diabari, Uttara, a 45-year-old teacher has succumbed to her injuries.
The teacher, identified as Mahfuza, passed away on Thursday at 12:45 pm while undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
The institute’s resident surgeon confirmed that Mahfuza had sustained burns covering 25 percent of her body. Her death brings the total number of fatalities treated at the institute to 19. Currently, 23 patients remain under treatment, while 14 have been discharged.
The tragic incident occurred on July 21 when a military aircraft crashed at Milestone School and College in Diabari.
The Ministry of Health had previously reported 34 deaths from the crash. With Mahfuza’s passing, the total death toll from the accident has risen to 35, most of whom were children.
