Naseeruddin Shah hospitalised with pneumonia

Veteran Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah has been admitted to the Khar-based PD Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre, a non-COVID-19 facility, on Tuesday (June 29).

The 70-year-old actor's wife and veteran actor Ratna Pathak Shah told the press on Wednesday that he had a "small patch" of pneumonia in his lungs and was undergoing treatment.

The internationally acclaimed actor's secretary Jairaj told the press on Thursday that his condition has improved and might be discharged on Friday. 

Naseeruddin Shah, alumni of the National School of Drama (NSD) and Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), is best known for his contribution towards parallel cinema, like acclaimed 'Nishant', 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro', 'Ijaazat', 'Masoom', and 'Mirch Masala.'

He is also immensely popular in the commercial cinema arena with films like 'Mohra', 'Sarfarosh', 'Ishqiya', 'The Dirty Picture', and 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.'

Moreover, legendary Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar also has been admitted to the same hospital due to age-related medical issues.
