Trade activities through Sonamasjid land port will remain suspended for 10 days from March 18 to March 27 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, port authorities said.
Ruhul Amin, secretary of the C&F Agents Association at Sonamasjid land port, said passenger movement for travellers with valid passports will continue as usual during the holiday period.
He said import and export operations will resume at the port from the morning of March 28 after the Eid break.
However, loading and unloading of goods that have already arrived at the port will continue during the suspension period.
Ruhul Amin added that the customs authorities and related associations at Mahadipur land port in India have been officially informed about the temporary halt in trade activities.
