Saidpur Airport in Nilphamari resumed flight operations on Monday morning around 10:00 am following a 15-hour shutdown due to a problem with the night landing system that caused the runway to become completely dark.
According to Suplob Kumar Ghosh, the airport manager, flight operations have been paused since 7:00 p.m. yesterday.
"Regular flight operation is going on at daytime, but it is uncertain what would happen at night as the problem with the Night Landing System is still unidentified," Suplob stated.
He said that a special team from Dhaka was its way to Saidpur to help the technical officials locate and resolve the issue.
More than 200 passengers were stuck at the airport due to the sudden error, according to airport officials.
