The general secretary of the ruling Awami League (AL), Obaidul Quader, on Thursday denied Transparency International Bangladesh`s (TIB) assertion about the 12th national election and claimed the organization is an agent of the BNP.
"Everything that
says is biased; they support BNP. They belong to a group that opposes the government. TIB also speaks the same language as BNP," Quader remarked during a press conference held at the AL president`s political office in Dhanmondi, the capital."History has shown us that TIB has consistently opposed the Awami League. They have been employed by the BNP forever. They base their work on research. However, we can not find objectivity in their study," Quader remarked.
According to TIB, building the Padma Bridge is not feasible. The Centre for Policy Dialogue, or CPD, also mentioned this. However, Quader stated that the people of his country have seen reality.
In answer to a journalist`s query about violence following elections, Quader stated, "In politics, strategy is always there. There are disputes now and there always will be. Every political party has it."
Speaking about the opposition party in the parliament, Obaidul Quader stated that it will become evident as soon as the session started.
Sayeed Khokon, Parveen Zaman Kalpana, Merina Jahan Kabita, and Sujit Roy Nandi, along with BM Mozammel Haque, SM Kamal Hossain, and Sujit Roy Nandi, the AL organizing secretaries, were present among others.
