All-rounder Nasir Hossain was in good form in the recently concluded Bangladesh Premier League. In addition to playing 12 matches in BPL, he scored 366 runs and took 16 wickets. Still, he is planning to leave the country and go to the United States of America with heartbreak as he is not noticed by the selectors and is not appreciated by the team.
Nasir last played in the national team in 2018. He was dropped due to poor performance. He did not get a chance to play after that. Nasir was in great form in the current Dhaka Premier League.
In an interview given to the media on Saturday, cricketer Nasir Hossain said, “Look, if you don`t get a proper evaluation, then why should you stay in Bangladesh? I feel that I am not being evaluated properly. So I will go to America. I`ve said this before, and I`m still saying it. Right after this DPL I`m going to the United States, I am going to play minor-league games there."
In response to the question of whether he will play for the country after going to the United States, cricketer Nasir said, "I will not say anything about that right now. Let`s see what happens, if it seems to me that in Bangladesh I am not being properly evaluated, then maybe I can think of something else. It`s not that I won`t play for Bangladesh if I go to America, I will definitely play for the country as well."
Nasir said in response to the question why he is not able to play in the national team even after doing well in the BPL and the current Dhaka Premier League, “I can`t say why I wasn`t picked. But I was hoping that when Ireland and England came, I might get a call for the practice matches there. But nothing of that sort happened."
" There is no reason why I should not be included. Many people got the opportunity by performing worse than me. I can not ask the selectors why I was not included in the team", added Nasir.
Cricketer Nasir said regarding the selectors in the interview, `When you are a selector, you don`t see what kind of relationship you have with whom. You will decide what is best for the country."
