The recently released Indian Hindi-language espionage action thriller film is doing very well in India and globally. The film even got an official clearance by the Censor Board in UAE (United Arab Emirates).

However, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait banned the projection of the film and claimed that the content of the film is not fit for exhibition.

Bollywood Hungama reported, “The second half of ‘Bell Bottom’ shows the hijackers taking an aircraft to Dubai from Lahore. As per the actual incident that took place in 1984, U.A.E Defence Minister, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, had personally handled the situation and it was the UAE authorities who had nabbed the hijackers.”

In this film, Indian officials, including the character played by Akshay Kumar (Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) agent called Agent Bell Bottom), are shown as heroes in this whole incident.

The film also left out UAE Defence Minister’s actions out of the film’s storyline.

Based on true events, the film is directed by Ranjit M Tewari and produced by Pooja Entertainment and Emmay Entertainment.

The film also stars Lara Dutta as the legendary Indian politician and a central figure of the Indian National Congress, Indira Gandhi.
