Expat from Mymensingh dies after missile blast in Saudi Arabia

A Bangladeshi migrant worker from Mymensingh has died days after sustaining critical injuries in a missile explosion in Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia.
 

The deceased was identified as Abdullah Al Mamun, 35, a resident of Bharbhara village under Rasulpur Union in Gafargaon upazila. 

He was the son of Abdus Shahid Soudagar.
Family members said Mamun was severely injured on March 8 when a missile exploded near a workers’ accommodation facility of Al Towaik Baladia Company shortly before iftar.
 

Following the blast, he was taken to Dr Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital in Al Kharj, where he was placed on life support due to the severity of his injuries.
 

After several days of treatment, doctors pronounced him dead around 11:30pm on Tuesday, his father confirmed on Wednesday.
 

Mamun’s body remains in Al Kharj, and arrangements are expected to be made for its return.
 

He leaves behind a young child and family members who are mourning his death.
