As many as 66 lakh 25 thousand doses of coronavirus vaccine were administered during the nationwide immunisation drive marking Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s birthday.
On Tuesday the total number of inoculation was 67 lakh 58 thousand 922 summing the special and regular vaccination.
According to a press briefing sent by the health ministry Tuesday night, some 66 lakh 25 thousand 123 doses were pushed marking the PM’s birthday. Out of them, male receivers got 31 lakh 69 thousand 622 doses while 34 lakh 55 thousand 501 were female.
Only the first shot was given yesterday. The second dose will be given on October 28.
Apart from the special jab, the regular vaccination underwent on Tuesday. Some 1 lakh 33 thousand 869 shots were administered under regular immunisation programme. Of them 71 thousand 197 were male and 62 thousand 672 were female receivers.
According to the health department, a total of 3 crore 15 lakh 6 thousand 17 people received the first dose so far while 1 crore 66 lakh 33 thousand 735 received both jab.
The country started vaccination programme against the deadly coronavirus on February 7 this year.
