Businessmen affected by the terrible fire in Bangabazar of Gulistan in the capital will be able to start business from next Wednesday. On the occasion of Eid, these traders can set up stalls and sell goods.
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor, Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapas said this to reporters after a meeting with business leaders at Nagar Bhaban on Sunday (April, 9).
DSCC Mayor said, “We will start the cleaning operation in full swing from Monday (April 10) morning. So that within the next 1-2 days there will be an environment for conducting business.”
Stating that the complete list of the affected traders has not yet been prepared, Barrister Tapas said, “Hopefully, the full list will be completed by tomorrow. Apart from this, we have received positive response from all quarters for their rehabilitation.”
In response to a question from journalists, mentioning that 2 crore taka has been deposited in the fund so far, the mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation added, "We have a corporation meeting on next Tuesday (April 11). We will also contribute in this fund so that the small traders can be rehabilitated. The entire system will be done by the Dhaka South City Corporation.”
