In a 24-hour count tll Friday morning, health authorities in Bangladesh reported 5,440 fresh cases. With this, the total number of cases in the country has reached 1,762,771.
The country also reported 20 more deaths during the same periodn taking the total deaths to 28,308.
Labs across the country tested as many as 46,292 samples in the last 24 hours, recording a daily positivity rate of 33.37 percent.
The figures were reported between Thursday 8:00 am and Friday 8:00 am.
The latest Covid-19 situation in the country was revealed by the Directorate General of Health Services in its routine daily statement.
Among the divisions, Dhaka reported the highest numbers in terms of infections, Chattogram reported the highest numbers in terms of deaths.
Bangladesh reported the first Covid-19 death in March 2020.
