408 hospitalised, 3 dead from dengue in 24 hours

Dengue continues to pose a serious public health challenge in Bangladesh, with three more deaths and 408 new hospitalisations reported in the past 24 hours.

The latest data was shared in a press release issued by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday, August 6.

The hospitalisation breakdown shows that Barishal Division (outside the city corporation areas) recorded the highest number of new patients at 73, followed by 58 in Chattogram, 59 in Dhaka Division (outside the city corporations), 37 in Dhaka North City Corporation, and 57 in Dhaka South City Corporation. Additionally, 37 patients were admitted in Khulna, 25 in Mymensingh, 52 in Rajshahi, 4 in Rangpur, and 3 in Sylhet.

Meanwhile, 338 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours after receiving treatment. Since the beginning of this year, a total of 23,220 people have been admitted to hospitals with dengue, of whom 21,799 have recovered.

With the latest deaths, the dengue death toll for 2025 has climbed to 95. Health authorities continue to monitor the situation as the number of cases rises in multiple regions.
