Bangladesh is set to administer the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine as part of the mass immunisation campaign Thursday (October 26).
The second dose will be administered only to those who received the coronavirus vaccine at a nationwide mass vaccination program on the occasion of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's birthday on September 26.
According to the Department of Health, the second dose should be taken from the center where the first dose was given under the mass vaccination program.
Earlier, on the occasion of the 74th birth anniversary of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, a mass immunization program was launched across the country on September 28.
At that time, more than 82 lakh people received the first dose of the Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine manufactured in China.
Tuesday (October 26) Additional Director General (ADG) of the health department Meerjady Sabrina Flora told the media regarding the second dose vaccination.
She said, instructions have been given to all vaccinations points for running the mass vaccination campaign of the second deose of vaccine.
Vaccination drive is scheduled for 28 this month, but in remote areas the date may be postponed.
