In a strong response to an attack on indigenous students in Dhaka, the interim government has condemned the violence and ordered a full investigation.
The students were peacefully protesting outside the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) building in Motijheel when they were attacked on Tuesday.
A statement from the Chief Advisor’s Press Wing confirmed that two people have already been arrested in connection with the attack, and authorities are working quickly to identify and arrest other suspects.
The statement also made it clear that everyone involved in the incident would be brought to justice.
The government emphasized that it stands firmly against violence, ethnic hatred, and religious extremism.
“Inspired by the true spirit of the July Revolution, we want to make it clear that there is no place for violence or division in Bangladesh,” the statement read.
“We will not tolerate anyone who threatens unity, peace, or law and order in the country,” it warned.
