Three more people have died from dengue in the country over the past 24 hours, while 580 dengue patients have been newly admitted to hospitals across the country during the same period.
The information was disclosed in a dengue-related press release issued by the Health Emergency Operations Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Monday.
According to the release, among the newly hospitalised dengue patients in the past 24 hours, 262 were from Dhaka Division, 36 from Mymensingh Division, 79 from Chattogram Division, 67 from Khulna Division, 22 from Rajshahi Division, 31 from Rangpur Division, 81 from Barishal Division, and two from Sylhet Division.
DGHS data showed that a total of 16,684 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country so far this year, up to August 3. During this period, 59 people have died from the disease.
Meanwhile, 15,344 dengue patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals this year so far. Currently, 1,281 dengue patients are receiving treatment at hospitals across the country.
According to DGHS statistics, a total of 102,861 dengue cases were reported in the country from January 1 to December 31, 2025, with 413 deaths recorded from the disease.
Earlier, in 2024, a total of 101,214 people were infected with dengue between January and December 31, while 575 people died.
In 2023, the country recorded 1,705 dengue-related deaths between January 1 and December 31, while a total of 321,179 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals that year.
