Rain, thunderstorms likely across the country

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Monday forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds, in different parts of the country during the next 24 hours starting from 9:00 am.

According to a Met Office bulletin issued this morning, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected at many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, while a few places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions may also experience rainfall.

The bulletin further mentioned that moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may occur at some places across Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.

Day and night temperatures are likely to remain almost unchanged throughout the country.

The highest temperature recorded on Sunday was 35 degrees Celsius in Rangpur, while the lowest temperature recorded today was 24.4 degrees Celsius in Sylhet and Bandarban.

In the past 24 hours until 6:00 am today, Kutubdia received the highest rainfall, measuring 81 millimetres.

The sun is expected to set in Dhaka at 6:41 pm today and rise at 5:29 am tomorrow.
