Rain, thunderstorms likely in Dhaka and several other parts of the country

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain accompanied by thunderstorms in Dhaka and several other parts of the country today. At the same time, a No. 1 warning signal has been issued for river ports in 10 regions.

According to the weather forecast, the sky over Dhaka may remain cloudy to temporarily overcast today. Winds may blow from the south or southeast at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometres per hour.

Meanwhile, rain or thunderstorms accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds reaching speeds of 45 to 60 kilometres per hour may occur over Dhaka, Faridpur, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, and Sylhet regions.

As a result, authorities have advised the inland river ports in these areas to hoist the No. 1 warning signal.
