Three more children have died with measles-like symptoms in the country over the past 24 hours, while 1,080 children were diagnosed with measles or measles-like symptoms during the same period.
The information was revealed in the latest measles situation report released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Monday afternoon.
According to the report, although three children died with measles symptoms in the past 24 hours, no deaths from confirmed measles infections were recorded during the period.
Since March 15, a total of 751 children have died with measles-like symptoms in the country. During the same period, 96 children have died from confirmed measles infections. In total, 847 children have lost their lives due to measles and measles-related symptoms.
In the past 24 hours, 113 children were diagnosed with measles, while 967 patients were identified with measles-like symptoms. During the same period, 908 children were newly admitted to hospitals and 906 children were discharged after receiving treatment.
According to DGHS data, from March 15 to Monday, the total number of suspected measles cases in Bangladesh has reached 131,050. During this period, 16,408 confirmed measles cases have been identified.
So far, a total of 113,528 measles patients and suspected cases have been admitted to hospitals. Of them, 109,189 patients have recovered and returned home after receiving treatment.
