The International Cricket Council (ICC) has banned United States cricketer Bodugum Akhilesh Reddy from all forms of cricket for eight years for obstructing a match-fixing and anti-corruption investigation.
In a statement issued on Friday (July 31), the ICC said an independent anti-corruption tribunal found Reddy guilty of breaching three provisions of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code. The charges were linked to incidents during the 2025 Abu Dhabi T10 League.
Reddy was provisionally suspended in November last year while the investigation was ongoing. The provisional suspension was later converted into a full eight-year ban, with the punishment backdated to November 21, 2025 — the date of his initial suspension.
The ICC said the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) had appointed the ICC’s designated Anti-Corruption Officer (DACO) for the Abu Dhabi T10 tournament. The charges against Reddy were established based on the findings of that investigation.
The tribunal found Reddy guilty of three offences. The first charge was that he was involved in an attempt to improperly influence the outcome, progress, or any other aspect of one or more matches in the 2025 Abu Dhabi T10 League, or in a conspiracy to fix a match.
The second charge stated that he attempted to induce or encourage another participant to engage in match-fixing.
The third charge involved obstructing the anti-corruption investigation by deleting important information and messages related to the inquiry from his mobile phone.
After finding him guilty of all three charges, the ICC banned Reddy from participating in any form of cricket-related activity for eight years.
