Ukraine has apologized for an attack on an Iranian ship, after which Tehran reportedly called off planned strikes on three Ukrainian facilities at the last moment, according to Reuters.
The claim was made by Mohsen Rezaei, a senior military adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, during an interview with the country’s state television. His remarks came amid renewed tensions between Iran and Ukraine.
Earlier, on July 25, Iran accused Ukraine of carrying out an attack on an Iranian commercial vessel. Tehran claimed that one crew member was killed in the incident, which took place in the Caspian Sea.
Meanwhile, the Iranian military adviser also issued a warning regarding the Strait of Hormuz. He said no vessels would be allowed to operate outside Iran’s designated maritime routes. He also warned that enemy warships attempting to use unauthorized routes would be targeted.
