The price of gold in Bangladesh remains unchanged today (Sunday) after the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) raised the price of gold by Tk 2,216 per bhori on Friday.

Following the increase, the price of 22-carat gold was set at Tk 223,074 per bhori, effective from 10:00 am on Friday. As BAJUS has not made any further adjustment, gold is still being sold at the same rate in the local market today.

In a statement, BAJUS said the new gold prices were set due to an increase in the price of refined gold (pure gold) in the local market.

According to the latest rates, including VAT, the price of gold per bhori (11.664 grams) is:

  • 22-carat gold: Tk 223,074
  • 21-carat gold: Tk 213,043
  • 18-carat gold: Tk 182,950
  • Traditional method gold: Tk 149,474

BAJUS said these prices will remain effective at all jewellery shops across the country until further notice.

Meanwhile, despite the rise in gold prices, the price of silver remains unchanged in the local market. The current prices, including VAT, are:

  • 22-carat silver: Tk 4,607 per bhori
  • 21-carat silver: Tk 4,374 per bhori
  • 18-carat silver: Tk 3,791 per bhori
  • Traditional method silver: Tk 2,858 per bhori
