Hasina, Nowfel among 34 sued now over Chittagong student murder

Another murder case has been filed against ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina  as she, former education minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, and 32 other people were sued in Chittagong city over the death of a Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinee.

Tanvir Siddique, 19, the examinee of Ashekan Awlia Degree College, was shot dead in a clash between protesters and police and Awami League activists quota reform movement on July 18 in the port city‍‍`s Bahaddarhat area.

His uncle Mohammad Parvez filed the case with Chandgaon Police Station on Friday night, said the police station‍‍`s Officer-in-charge Jahidul Kabir.

Two councillors of Chittagong City Corporation were also named in the case.

Some 650 were killed and thousands of protesters and bystanders have been injured in the protests waged by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, with hospitals overwhelmed by the influx of patients. a UN report said on Friday.
