The main Eid-ul-Azha jamaat was held this morning at 7:30am at Jatiya Eidgah Maidan, near the High Court, by the arrangement of Dhaka South City Corporation.
Despite the rain, a large number of muslims assembled on the National Eidgah premises for the main jamaat.
Hafez Maulana Mufti Dr. Mostaq Ahmed presided over the congregation and gave the devoted attendees a spiritual message.
A number of notable people from different spheres of society, including the country`s Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique, judges from the Appellate and High Court Division, members of parliament, DSCC Mayor Fazle Noor Taposh, and DNCC Mayor Atiqul Rahman, joined the congregation, showing the festival`s diversity and unity.
The biggest pandal, occupying a vast area of 25,400 square meters on the Eidgah premises, was filled with thousands of worshipers simultaneously offering their prayers. The devotees` massive presence heightened the holy significance and beauty of the occasion.
During the main Eid Jamat, strict security measures were set in place to guarantee the wellbeing and safety of every participant. The authorities set up roadblocks at key intersections like the Paltan crossroads, the Matsya Bhaban intersection, and the Education Building intersection to maintain security.
