Inoculation of Sinopharm vaccines, received from China, will kick off at district and upazila level across the country on Monday (July 12.
Health department’s vaccination project director Professor Doctor Shamsul Haque came up with the disclosure in the regular corona bulletin on Sunday (July 11).
“Apart from Sinopharm vaccines, the Moderna jab of Covax will start on Tuesday in city corporation area,” the bulletin read.
“The doses will be distributed nationwide within today. Moderna vaccines have been sent already in city corporation areas. The inoculation of Sinopharm vaccine will start on Monday and Moderna on Tuesday,” Shmsul Haque hoped in the bulletin.
Bangladesh started pushing vaccine doses on its citizen’s arms at Kurmitola Hospital in the capital on January 27 through inoculating vaccines produced by Oxford-AstraZeneca and given by Serum Institute of India.
Alongside, the authorities launched mass immunisation program on February 7 at 1 thousand 5 hospitals and clinics across the country.
Later the shot was postponed as India suspended vaccine export. Bangladesh attempted to bring vaccines from several other countries.
As part of government’s diplomatic efforts, China and the US responded as gave Sinopharm and Moderna vaccines to Bangladesh.
