Commenting on the US`s new visa policy as part of the `regime change` strategy, Rashed Khan Menon, president of the Workers` Party of Bangladesh and one of the top leaders of the 14-party alliance, said, "They want St. Martin, they want Bangladesh in Quadrilateral Security Dialogue."
He also claimed that they are doing everything to oust the current government.
Menon, also a parliament member of Dhaka-8, was participating in the general discussion on the proposed national budget for 2023-24 at the Jatiya Sangsad on Wednesday.
Menon said, “The United States does not need its friends, its enemies. Quite some time ago, the United States has given sanctions to keep Bangladesh in the bag. Now announcing the visa policy on the occasion of the election. It is not only dubious but part of their `regime change` strategy. They want St. Martin, they want Bangladesh in the Quad.”
Criticizing the United States, the president of the Workers` Party of Bangladesh also said that they sent the seventh fleet to the Bay of Bengal to take away the victory of the liberation war of Bangladesh. During a severe food crisis, wheat ships were withdrawn from the Mediterranean to embarrass Bangabandhu`s government. They were behind the killing of Bangabandhu. Now they are doing everything to oust the current government."
Supporting the government`s position on the issue of US sanctions and visa policy, this senior left-wing leader of the country said, I fully support the position of the Prime Minister, I want to say, Mr. Biden, handle Trump. We will manage our house. There will be an election, the election will be held with Sheikh Hasina`s government."
Meanwhile, Rashed Khan also said, “BNP should participate in the elections. Tariq Rahman can wait for 2029 without election. But BNP will cease to exist by now. His dream will not be fulfilled. Bangladesh is moving forward, will move forward.”
