Among the former students certificates of 73 have been permanently canceled while certificates of 6 others have been suspended for two years.

The VC also mentioned that external assailants and police officers who allegedly collaborated with the university’s Chhatra League unit in the attacks will not be tried under university laws. Instead, their cases will be forwarded to the International Crimes Tribunal for investigation and further action.

However, 40 students (20 current and 20 former) have been cleared of all charges. When asked about the grounds for their exoneration, Treasurer Professor Abdur Rob, who headed the further investigation committee, said there was no direct or indirect evidence implicating them in the violence.
