The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education has given new instructions to the secondary level educational institutions fearing of cold wave.
The authorities have stated that the normal operation of the education system is being disrupted due to the cold wave.
A letter signed by Assistant Director (Secondary-II) SM Ziaul Haider of the directorate was sent to the nine regional office directors of government institution on Tuesday.
The letter said, "Severe cold wave is flowing in different districts of the country. It is known that the normal activities of education of students are being disrupted due to the current cold weather."
"In this case, in those districts where the maximum temperature will fall below 10 degrees Celsius (as per the weather forecast of the concerned Meteorological Office), the Regional Deputy Directors in consultation with the District Education Officers of those districts will give instruction of closing secondary level educational institutions (until the maximum temperature is 10 degrees Celsius or above)," the letter added.
