Europe Journey: 210 migrants die in 10 days on Tunisian Mediterranean coast

At least 210 migrants have died in the past ten days when boats capsized off Tunisia‍‍`s Mediterranean coast while crossing the Mediterranean Sea to Europe. This information was reported by Al-Jazeera, citing Reuters.

According to Aljazeera‍‍`s report yesterday, the Tunisian Coast Guard has recovered the bodies of 41 people so far.

Crossing the Mediterranean via Tunisia has increased in recent months as the country has stepped up operations on Libya‍‍`s Benghazi route, one of Libya‍‍`s main routes to Europe.

Fouzi Masmoudi, Judicial Officer of the port city of Sfax, Tunisia, told the media yesterday, "Last Tuesday, we had more than two hundred bodies, which is much more than the capacity of the hospital."

The Judicial Officer of Sfax also said, ‍‍`‍‍`Many bodies were brought to the shore but the identity of the dead could not be identified. He also mentioned that the number of dead bodies is constantly increasing."

One of the ways to get to Italy or Europe illegally is to cross the Mediterranean Sea. One of the routes or convenient places to enter Italy is the African countries of Libya and Tunisia. Thousands of poverty-stricken migrants from Africa and the Middle East are crossing the Mediterranean through Libya.

Citizens of various countries in Asia, Africa and the Middle East, including Bangladesh, India, and Indonesia, reach Libya in various ways with the intention of building a better life and changing the wheel of destiny. Then many people reach Italy by crossing the Mediterranean Sea by boat from the Juara coast of the country.
