The interim government has sought an explanation from the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dhanmondi Police Station regarding the basis for the arrest of a rickshaw puller from Dhanmondi 32. The statement was issued on Sunday (17 August).
According to the statement, authorities want to know on what grounds Mohammad Azizur Rahman, the rickshaw puller arrested from Dhanmondi 32, was taken into custody as a suspect in a case.
The matter is under scrutiny to determine whether any irregularities occurred in the officer’s recent actions or statements, with oversight by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
In addition, the OC has been instructed to submit a prompt report under the recently amended Section 173(A) of the Code of Criminal Procedure to ensure a timely investigation into Azizur Rahman’s alleged involvement in the registered case.
