The Kremlin revealed on Tuesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin and China`s Xi Jinping are set to engage in high-level communications, yet refrained from providing a definite timeframe for a potential visit by Putin to Beijing.
Responding to inquiries regarding Putin`s prospective visit to China, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov suggested that Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov`s recent trip to Beijing served as groundwork for "upcoming contacts at the highest level."
Peskov emphasized the significance of these anticipated communications, stating, "Indeed, such contacts are planned, recognizing the importance and necessity of maintaining the strong, amicable ties between the Russian Federation and China."
However, Peskov cautioned against specifying exact timelines, stating, "We still consider it premature to specify any time frames. We will inform you about everything as soon as we are ready."
