Journo among 2 stabbed in Narayanganj over news on teen gang

Two people, including a journalist have received severe injuries after miscreants stabbed them for reportedly publishing news on a teen gang in Narayanganj.

 

The injured are--Md Rashid Chowdhury, executive editor of Dainik Agrabani Pratidin and local trader Jashim Uddin. 

 

According to the victims a gang of teenagers intercepted them at Golachipa area around 10pm on Friday when they were heading towards Chashara and stabbed them indiscriminately, leaving them injured.

 

During the attack, the miscreants told the victims that they came under attack for publishing  news against the teen gang.

 

Syed Sifat Al Rahman, general secretary of Narayanganj City Press Club, said:"Hearing the scream of the victims, locals rushed in and took them to Narayanganj General Hospital. Later, they were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

 

Earlier on May 11, a video of the teen gang brandishing firearms and beating other teens went viral on social media. 

 

Dainaik Agrabani Pratidin published a news regarding the issue. 

 

Torikul Islam, inspector of Fatullah Model Police Station, said police are investigating the matter.
