The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has been sharply increased at the consumer level, with a 12kg cylinder now costing Tk 1,728 for April.
The new rate marks a rise of Tk 387 compared to the previous month. Autogas prices have also gone up, with the new rate set at Tk 79.77 per litre, up from Tk61.83.
The revised prices were announced by the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission on Thursday. Officials said the new rates will take effect from Thursday evening.
In March, the price of a 12kg LPG cylinder remained unchanged at Tk 1,341, while autogas prices saw a slight decrease.
The latest increase is expected to add pressure on consumers already dealing with rising living costs.
