Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held talks with FIFA President Gianni Infantino in Jeddah on Saturday, focusing on ways to expand football development and cooperation.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting reviewed ongoing collaboration between Saudi Arabia and FIFA and explored opportunities to grow the sport at both grassroots and professional levels.
Saudi Arabia has been increasing its involvement in global sports in recent years under its Vision 2030 plan, investing in infrastructure, talent development and major international events.
The country has already hosted several regional and global tournaments and has worked with FIFA to promote football participation and commercial growth across the Middle East.
Officials also see Saudi Arabia aiming for a bigger role in international football, including potential plans to host major global events in the future.
The meeting was attended by Sports Minister Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal and Saudi Arabian Football Federation president Yasser Al-Misehal, reflecting the Kingdom’s continued focus on strengthening its position in world football.
