In order to support the civil government in conducting the elections on January 7, the Election Commission has decided to station military personnel throughout the nation for 13 days, from December 29 to January 10.
According to a letter from the EC on Monday, military personnel would be deployed at several "nodal points" and convenient locations in each district, upazila, and metropolitan area.
The Armed Forces Division`s main staff officer received a letter from the commission stating that military personnel will be sent in coordination with returning officers.
The memo stated that an executive magistrate will go with the armed troops.
