On Monday, a Lalmonirhat court sentenced three members of the banned militant group Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) to life imprisonment and another to 14 years in a separate arms case.
The sentence was imposed by Judge Mizanur Rahman of the Lalmonirhat Special Tribunal.
The lifers are identified as Mokhlesur Rahman, son of Hafizur Rahman of Kaliganj upazila, Apel Misti, son of Lutfur Rahman, and Shafiqul Islam, son of Nazrul Islam.
Tafizul Islam received a 14-year sentence.
The prosecution claims that on August 2, 2018, four JMB men were detained by members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13.
Additionally, the elite force seized guns and bullets from them.
