US warns visa holders to ensure financial readiness

The United States Embassy in Dhaka has advised non-immigrant visa holders to ensure they have adequate financial resources while staying in the United States.

In a message issued on Saturday, the embassy urged travellers to plan their trips carefully and make sure they can cover all expenses during their stay, including costs that may arise from travel disruptions or medical emergencies.

The embassy also warned that misuse of benefits funded by US taxpayers could carry serious consequences.

“Misusing such benefits may lead to permanent ineligibility to travel, study or work in the United States in the future,” the message said.
