Thirty-six political parties will soon announce a joint programme to topple the government, according to BNP Vice Chairman Barkatullah Bulu.
“To remove Sheikh Hasina, everyone has to be on the streets,” he said.
The BNP leader was addressing a preparatory meeting of Chattogram Divisional Sramik Dal on the occasion of the mega rally of Chittagong Divisional Sramik Dal on July 16 at the BNP office ground at Nasimon Bhaban in Chattogram city on Saturday.
"Today, foreign democracies are saying that there is no democratic government in Bangladesh. The illegal government sitting in power by force should be removed. Through the ongoing democratic movement, the bell of Sheikh Hasina`s departure should be ringed and a non-party neutral government should be established and the voting rights of all people should be ensured,” said Bulu.
“So after that announcement comes, we will all unite and say goodbye to Sheikh Hasina through peaceful movement and struggle. There is no other option,” he added.
Presided over by Chattogram Divisional Sramik Dal President AM Nazim Uddin and general secretary Sheikh Nurullah Bahar, the meeting was addressed by BNP Chairperson`s Special Assistant Shimul Biswas, BNP Central Committee Organizing Secretary Mahbubur Rahman Shamim and Chattogram City BNP Convener Dr Mahbubur Rahman, among others.
