Three of a family hacked dead in Lakshmipur

A woman, her son and granddaughter have been hacked to death over a family feud in Ramgati upazila of Lakshmipur.

The victims are Sakhina Begum, 40, her son Mahin, 6, and granddaughter Fariya Akter, 4, police said.

Ramgati Police Station‍‍`s officer-in-charge (OC) Mosleh Uddin said that Sakhina‍‍`s stepson Md Tarek killed them in the upazila‍‍`s Charporagachha union parishad on Saturday evening. 

Tarek, 25, was caught red-handed before the police appeared in the crime scene.

Sources said that Tarek is the son of Sidu Miah‍‍`s first wife. A resident in Dhaka, Tarek went to his village home on Thursday when he father was not at home. 

Due to a family dispute, he mudered the trio, said OC Mosleh, adding that the bodies were sent to a local hospital.

Filing of a case was under-process, he added.
