With a significant number of activists in attendance, the ruling Awami League has begun its protest peacefully. The activists had taken over the entire space prior to the rally`s start.
Actually, the party`s intention to portray a major showdown was realized through the rally.
Hundreds of members of the ruling party`s affiliated organizations were seen traveling via buses, pick-up trucks, and other forms of transportation to the location of the program on Wednesday (July 12).
Although the location of the ruling party`s rally has been set at Baitul Mukarram`s south gate in the capital, it has now spread to the nearby places of Gulistan, GPO, Paltan, and Bangabhaban.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, the party General Secretary, will speak during the event.
Hundreds of activists from the ruling party`s many affiliated organizations could be seen gathering near the location of the protest. They were spotted marching into the area while chenting slogans and carrying flags.
