Sarjis Alam, a coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, stated that the student body will decide the course of action regarding President Mohammed Shahabuddin.
“If President Mohammed Shahabuddin claims he does not possess the documents related to Sheikh Hasina`s resignation, it will be up to the students to determine the appropriate response,” Sarjis said during a roundtable discussion organized by Islami Andolan in Segunbagicha on Monday.
In his remarks, Sarjis also criticized the Jatiya Party, labeling it a "conscience-less party."
He asserted, "The Jatiya Party lacks integrity and has supported the oppressive Awami League. There is no merit in engaging in political dialogue with them."
He added, “The oppressive regime remains in place, and various agencies and conspirators are working to instigate instability in the country. We must resist these efforts, and if necessary, we will take to the streets again.”
Previously, President Mohammed Shahabuddin mentioned that he had heard about Sheikh Hasina`s resignation before she left Bangladesh, but he lacks documentary proof.
Despite extensive efforts, he has been unable to locate any such documents, as he shared during an interview with Manab Zamin Editor-in-Chief Matiur Rahman Chowdhury, published in the political magazine Jonotar Chokh on Saturday.
“Perhaps she did not have the time,” the president speculated.
