Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that the European Union (EU) wants to see the participation of all parties, including BNP, in the upcoming 12th national elections and that hopped that the elections will be fair and impartial. However, he has made it clear to the delicates that the government will not care about any 'instruction' from foreigners in the election.
Quader, also the minister of Road Transport and Bridges sat in a meeting with the delegation of seven countries at the EU ambassador residence in Gulshan on Thursday. Awami League Information and Research Affairs Secretary Salim Mahmud, Office Secretary and Prime Minister's Special Assistant Barrister Biplab Barua were also present in the meeting.
After the meeting, the Awami League general secretary told the journalists what the EU said about the election and the participation of BNP in it.
